Meet NPSLT’s Founder
Hi, I’m Carissa Jermy BSc (Hons) Cert.MRCSLT HCPC.
I qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2017 after achieving a first-class degree from the University Of East Anglia. I have since accrued professional experience across a wide range of clinical cases as an independent SLT, and my continued professional development has aided my specialisation in providing therapy intervention for paediatric and young adult client groups.

“I have a real passion for what I do, and love dedicating time to helping clients to reach their communicative potential.
Part of my continued professional development has included completing a number of further courses and accreditations including the Down Syndrome Education International courses, ‘Improving Speech and Language Development for Children and Young People with Down Syndrome’ and ‘Reading and Language Intervention’. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) courses including a Level 4 Elklan accredited course, Makaton Foundation Workshop, Picture Exchange Communication System training (PECS), TEACCH approach, The SCERTS Model, Attention Autism, VERVE Child Interaction and TalkTools Oral Placement Therapy course.
Outside of my time in clinical sessions, I am committed to furthering my professional development through training and research to ensure I continue to utilise the most effective methods of treatment and stay at the cutting edge of Speech and Language Therapy clinical development. You can follow my progress and findings, both on my Insights page and on Instagram or Facebook.
Although based on the outskirts of Norwich, I love driving around Norfolk and Suffolk to visit clients in a range of locations. When I’m not at Norfolk Private Speech and Language Therapy, I enjoy spending time outdoors, particularly in our beautiful Norfolk countryside. ”
Our Values
Personable, reliable, professional & effective
NPSLT’s approach to Speech Therapy was based on four main fundamentals: being professional, reliable, personable and effective.
This means we work in a range of settings to support both the individual and those around them, including homes, nurseries, schools, day-services and colleges. We prioritise the needs of our clients, and always tailor our approach to ensure it is effective and sees the best results possible.
Our approach is always based around these key principles, whether we are providing therapy on an individual basis or to small groups, as well as when we work closely with other professionals in adjacent professions.
We understand that accessing advice and support can feel like a battle at times. We work to provide support and remove as much stress as possible, by strongly advocating for our clients and their support network, so they are able to reach their communicative potential and goals.
See our Services page for a insight into some of the other services we offer.
