Begin Your SLT Journey To Build Better Communication
Services
-
We provide a comprehensive and individualised assessment service to gain an insight into the speech, language and communication strengths and needs of the client.
Formal and informal assessments are utilised to support diagnosis of speech, language and communication difficulties or disorders.
A detailed report is written, shared and discussed with the referrer, which includes details about next steps.
-
Following assessment, therapy will be offered based on clinical requirements. This may be in the form of direct individual or group therapy or indirect support through training/information sharing or a programme of activities and advice.
Therapy can look different depending on the needs of the individual. While some sessions may include structured activities, others may be solely play based, following the childs’ lead.
During therapy, we will talk you through the intervention style and explain why we do what we do. This way you can feel confident to continue supporting your child in between therapy sessions, which is where the magic happens!

NPSLT provides training packages across settings in Norfolk and Suffolk.
We have a range of pre-prepared training packages for educational settings.
We can also create bespoke training packages to suit your needs.

We are passionate about supporting children and young people with Down syndrome and we feel so honoured to be welcomed into the community.
We feel strongly that children and young people with Down syndrome should access high quality interventions and should be supported to continue to achieve their goals into early adulthood and beyond.
We work closely with those around the child, such as parents/cares, family and education staff, to ensure that everyone can feel confident to support the specific learning profile that is often associated with children with Down syndrome.
Carissa has specialised in working with people with Down syndrome, through completing a number of training courses, keeping up to date with the latest research and working with a number of individuals between the ages of 2 - 20+!

Key Areas of Support
Speech Sounds
We are familiar with supporting children with a range of speech sound difficulties, whether their speech is delayed compared to their chronological age, or they have more complex phonological or articulation errors.
Following assessment, we ensure therapy is fun and tailored to your child’s interests, as we all learn best when we are having fun!
Language
Language encompasses a huge range of skills, from understanding single words or sentences, to formulating sentences with complex grammar, through a range of communication methods.
We assess each area of language development to ensure areas of need can be supported through therapy.
Speech and Language Therapists also support attention, play and social interaction skills.
Other Diagnoses Impacting Communication
We work closely with children and young adults with other diagnoses which may impact upon their communication skills, such as Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Learning Disabilities and Autism.
We understand that everyone has their own unique communication and learning style and our therapy approaches reflects this.
